When educating the minds of our youth, we must not forget to educate their hearts.

Student Home Visit

Every year during the summer holidays which last from beginning of April until mid of May a team from Yaowawit consisting of teachers and parent teachers visit each student’s home – not only the one’s already living at Yaowawit but as well the homes of children who newly applied.

This is done to ensure that the children are taken care of during the break and to review their living conditions. During the visit the team makes inquiries about the current family and financial situation.

The children’s parents/guardians gave the team a warm welcome, some served snacks and softdrinks for the special occasion. All of them are extremely grateful for the chance their children are offered at Yaowawit. As it is true that some parents just disappeared, some are violent and some neglect their children, the majority of our students come from extremely poor families. Visiting them at their homes is a humbling experience.

This year the visits took place in the area of Phuket, Phang Nga, Surathani and Krabi.

Bangkok Trip

Our partner “Mercedes Benz Bangkok” gave the opportunity to 8 teachers and 40 children between 7-15, to start their vacation in a fun way by inviting them to a 4 days trip with all expenses paid!

The students were really happy to visit the big city and their days were full of enriching experiences while connecting with kind-hearted people.

  • Day 1: Rabajabhakti Park
  • Day 2: Sarm-Pan- Nam Market
  • Day 3: Safari World
  • Day 4: Mercedes Motor Show

Yaowawit Annual English Camp

We hosted our annual English Camp from the 3rd to the 8th of April for 50 children between the ages of 8 and 13.

All levels were welcomed and our certified English teachers assisted the non-English speakers, beginners, intermediate and advanced levels.

The children learned the English language through an educative series of different and fun animations such as music, farming, outdoors activities, cooking classes and acting classes. At the end of the camp every student received a participation certificate and a commemorative camp t-shirt.

Thank you to everyone who participated, we had an amazing time, lots of fun & laughs. See you next year!
