Bai Bua, now a primary grade 1 student
Nickname: Bai Bua
Birth Date: 11 February 2011
Join Yaowawit: May 2015
She is a happy and confident girl, whose favourite animal is a bear.
Bai Bua’s parents separated when she was only two months old. Since then she has been living with her grandmother. Her mother has remarried and only takes care of her new family. The same goes for her father. He takes care of his new children, but does not support Bai Bua.
Bai Bua’s grandmother works at the Takua Pa hospital, where she sometimes has to work afternoon and night shifts. Bai Bua was then cared for by her aunt, but she has now finished school and started studying.
After her grandmother heard about Yaowawit, we were contacted and took Bai Bua in.
What is Bai Bua like?
Bai Bua is a very sweet girl, always enjoying a little affection from friends, teachers or foreigners. At first she is rather shy, but she loves to get hugged, picked up and whirled around.
In her free time, Bai Bua often engages in role plays with her friends; walking around the kindergarten with a small trolley. She loves to imitate being in a store and buying things around the room, or playing the role of a mother with other friends as husband and child.
In class, Bai Bua can be equally engaging. She finishes her exercises fast and well, working independently on solving them. She works in a very concentrated manner, unless seated next to one of her close friends with whom she will have a fun time joking around. Bai Bua shows a lot of interest in learning English. Though she does not know many words yet, she will use those she knows and often repeat them.
